Yes, you should try it. Just lay the foil all over the room. Actually I don’t paint with oils or acrylics because of the big clean up. Way too messy for me.

Haha, I stopped painting because I didn’t like all the cleaning afterwards. Maybe I should restart using a sheet of foil

Hi Debi-it is a lovely painting! I’m also owning the 1 lovely masterpiece from Osvald Eslon. My painting is about old Tallinn and to me it’s a real treasure! Absolutely love it! Beautiful, beautiful artwork:) And worth quite a bit:)

Hi Bert. Yes, I am in the San Diego area. What a small world you are from Ramona. That is where my brother lived. That’s a nice country town. And I think Gum Gum would look great anywhere. Mine reminds me of Benjamin Franklin a little. Thanks for the visit!

Ha ha! You are funny Bert. I too enjoy a good conversation about the capybara. I tend to like animals with odd noses. The R.O.U.S is a favorite of mine. Next zoo excursion I will be on the hunt for an okapi for you.

I’m a little late to finding your blog, but I’m retired now so time means nothing. ;o)

That R.O.U.S. is none other than the lovely capybara, world’s largest rodent. When I was in fifth grade my Girl Scout troop (615, woot woot!) went to “zoo school” at the SD Zoo. I never thought I’d get the chance to work capybaras into a conversation but 47 years later here it is! Now I’ll have to wait for you to put up a picture of an okapi so I can dazzle you with the fact that it is related to the giraffe, not zebra.

I’m such a fan of your work that when Traci Suzanne Marvel of Bigfork Bay fame pointed the way to your blog I zipped right to this entry.

How cool! I’ve love the Māori ever since reading Aku Aku by Thor Heyerdahl when I was a teenager.

And I couldn’t help but notice the rocky landscape in the distance, and the reference to Guatay, and I realized you must be in SD County. I grew up in San Diego, most recently lived outside of Ramona, and worshipped Rosie’s as the ultimate quilt shop. I now live on the western edge of the Rocky Mountains just below the Canadian line. A Māori would look out of place here, but I can understand the desire to have one.

Funny that a warm climate like SD county has so many awesome quilt connections — you, Jan Krentz, Eleanor Burns, and Rosie!
